If you can’t make the date and time, you can join a later live virtual school visit OR watch this visit for a month via the same registration link!
A few notes about the virtual school visits:
At any time before, during or after the presentation, you can click on the link in the lower part of the Crowdcast screen to buy a book from Alan’s hometown bookstore.
We recommend using your first name and last initial when you register, especially for students. It means that your full name won’t be displayed in the registered attendees section.
Crowdcast is similar to Zoom, but everyone doesn’t show up on the screen all at once. During the event, you’ll just see Alan and his presentation.
The best way to watch and participate is on a computer. No download is required when watching on a computer; just click the link provided and watch the presentation in your browser. Google Chrome works best, but other browsers are supported. If you watch the event on a smartphone or tablet, you may not be able to ask questions unless you download the Crowdcast app in advance.
At the end of the presentation, the Q&A section will open up so that everyone can ask questions. If you’re showing the presentation to an entire class at once, you may want to gather a few questions beforehand, so when it’s time to type them into the Q&A section, you’re ready!
With Crowdcast, there is an option to upvote a question by clicking the arrow to the left of it, so students can give a question more votes, making it more likely to be answered, rather than typing in the same question multiple times. Alan loves to answer questions, so, please prepare to type in questions and vote for those you most want to hear answered! He will answer as many questions as he can once the presentation is over.
